Jay Z is pretty close to the top. He has a net worth of $7.1 billion . Not bad.
Next is Adele. She is worth $65.9 billion.
Next is Beyonce–$57.9 billion.
Finally is Justin Bieber–$42.5 billion.
Can you guess which billionaire is Jay Z? It won’t be hard.
When you consider that Jay Z is worth $7.1 billion–about half of what Adele is valued at–it’s no wonder so few people own his money.
We have just scratched the surface on Forbes’ Billionaires of 2000 list.

The Supreme Court’s landmark decision in Citizens United v FEC (2010) brought millions of Americans into the political marketplace to voice their discontent with the political process. The impact of this ruling is hard to overestimate, particularly as political campaigns are increasingly funded by corporations with unlimited political funds. In light of this decision, the recent political climate would seem to indicate that many Americans—or at least, the more liberal ones—are ready for another dose of that particular brand of political liberalism. But not this time.
The current American political climate is not a return to the golden age of political activism. Rather, it’s a return to the Cold War. And one that looks a lot like what you might imagine the situation of the people once known as the Red Army to be like:
The same people are clamoring for more democracy. They are demanding more transparency. They are claiming more democratic self-government. They are even taking over the democratic process.
As always in times of deep crisis, there are some who advocate the most outlandish theories—or even worse—in the hopes of convincing the general population that they aren’t crazy. The most egregious of these would be to say that we are at the moment at the beginning of the end of the Cold War. The Cold War is not over—and this time around, if the Cold War were ever over, it would be more accurately termed the Golden Age of American Fascism. (Including my own.)
