What songs have you heard so many times, so many different versions of (that don’t work), you haven’t got room for them in your head?

I’ve listened to ‘Black and Blue’ a lot in the U.S., in the UK, Australia, Belgium, I know there’s a song like ‘Black and Yellow’ on there from the U.K., but I heard it in the States in 1983, so it must’ve been a good time.

Who is your favorite singer ever and who’s your least favorite?

I love everyone—you got Eminem, John Lennon, Elvis (laughs); everyone I’ve ever heard (laughs). And John Lennon has this great, great voice; when he singin’ that song ‘Imagine,’ the hairs on the back of my neck stand up—it’s so beautiful.

How do you find the time to write?

Usually when it’s cold, i put my headphones and ear buds on and just turn up the radio to see what is happening that day. And then listen to something else. Or go for a ride to a park, or do something I guess (laughs)
