If you are over the age of 18, you may need to visit your healthcare provider to discuss your options.
If you are over the age of 19 and you have had surgery to shrink your waist area, consult your doctor to determine if you should continue with your weight loss program.
How long does it take to lose weight and how long afterward will this last?
All people who are overweight or obese, regardless of how long they have been overweight, obese, or have had a BMI (body mass index) measurement in the past, experience the normal changes of gaining weight and losing weight at the same rate; however, there are many factors that affect weight loss.
It is normal to gain and lose 1% or more per week for two years, 1.5% or more per week for four years, and 2% or more per week for five years. A typical person will eventually begin to put in approximately 3 pounds or more every week for about one year until it is “tired out” (i.e., the body starts doing normal, lifestyle-related functions normally) and it is easier (and more comfortable) to lose weight again. In rare cases (such as in obese people, some of whom are very difficult to lose off) it may take longer to gain weight because it may be more difficult to change your lifestyle and eat a normal diet.
For your information, we have created a calculator that enables you to see if your weight, BMI, and changes in weight-related factors (i.e. the amount of fat that you weigh compared to your height) will take to the next level.
A couple of years ago I put out the idea of a “pro-voucher” (a “prepaid” card that could be used towards paying off your utility bill later) as a way of discouraging the high rates associated With Utility Bills that are currently being pushed on the public and on our hard working, well intentioned fellow citizens.
The idea behind “the voucher” was that instead of putting any money into the utility company you would instead put your debit card(s) in to pay this or that expense. The purpose would be to reduce the amount of money you had to pay and to avoid having to pay through the nose for utility bills that are not going to be fixed any time soon.
However, it is with some surprise to me that I find that my post on the “voucher” is not getting any traction
