Can a 3 year old play violin?

Yes, they can! The key is to play according to the instructor’s instructions. Many children can make a good start on violin.

Will it hurt my health?

Yes. It is important that violin is handled well so it will not cause injury during daily activities (such as play, shower, washing dishes, etc).

Do I need an instruction session before starting violin?

An additional practice session may be useful so that the child can get used to the instrument.

Would you charge me to play guitar or piano? How much?

No, no charge. See our music pricing page.

The United States has said its missile defense system in Alaska is “fully operational”, allowing it to target Russian and Chinese ballistic missiles entering the Arctic region.

The American defence secretary, General James Mattis, said on Monday at a news conference in Berlin that the system was “in-motion”.

His comments were followed by that of Senator John McCain, Republican chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, who was also in Berlin.

“We see North Korea as one of the biggest challenges we face at the moment and they are a threat to our allies and our vital interests,” he said.

Mr Mattis also said any Russian attempt to shoot down a US missile would be a “serious escalation”.

“We do not accept that, Mr Tillerson,” he said. “And we are ready to confront and take those actions they seek to bring us down.”

The US system has a range of 500km (311 miles).

However, when it appears in the sky, the range increases dramatically to 750km.

North Korea has carried out five nuclear tests since 2006 and Mr Mattis said the United States would use its missile defence system to defend itself against missiles launched from North Korea.

He said the system was “fully operational,” adding that “there is no question” the system could prevent North Korea from being able to target US territory.

“We have to defeat and ultimately destroy the regime of Kim Jong-un.”

The North Korean nuclear programme was already a “disproportionate” threat, he said, adding that it had a “long-range missile force as a deterrent”.

US officials believe Mr Kim has ordered a series of missile tests in recent weeks. They fear North Korea could carry out a sixth nuclear test soon.
