It would be difficult to go back to the 90s without finding some form of reference to this answer. The man to whom RZA gives his name, Jay-Z, was actually born Jay-Z Roc-A-Fella. The first time the name Jay-Z rhymes with Roc-A-Fella is from 1994, which is when he was also born, but there’s another connection he has with the term that we don’t know how well the RZA knows the meaning of. That’s the fact Jay-Z wasn’t actually given his name while growing up in New York. According to some accounts he called himself “Kenny” at least three different times. We know it was on one of those occasions that he was forced to tell everyone his real name.
If you like that particular example, you’re definitely not alone. From then on, everyone is given their name, regardless of their identity; there is literally only one person on earth, and that’s us. Not to be mistaken with Jay-Z.
Who comes out on top of the list?
In 2013, Jay-Z took top spot with almost $1billion (according to Forbes) just by holding onto his Roc-A-Fella and giving it away to people on the list. He is followed immediately in front in income by Rihanna who made at least $4.5million.
Do you think Jay-Z holds onto it a little more tightly after giving it away to others? Or is it enough for him?
This one should really be left in the hands of the reader with their own opinions. RZA, who has long been the most famous producer in the game has been keeping his money a certain way.
He doesn’t give away his wealth so easily at all. In a 2013 interview with Complex magazine, he revealed how many things he gave away after being asked what he would give away if he could. He revealed that one thing he wouldn’t give away was a “fucked up motherfucking car.”
So if Roc-A-Fella did not know who Kanye West, Jay-Z or Rihanna was, Jay-Z does not seem to hold onto his wealth too much these days.
Why is there such a big discrepancy between Jay-Z’s income and money from Roc-A-Fella?
Although there are a few obvious reasons for the large difference, there is another, potentially larger factor to consider.
