Music is one of the most powerful ways to make friends, build an audience, and make connections. It’s an exciting and rewarding process that is built upon personal relationships and creativity that are often difficult to achieve otherwise.
Before we start, you’ll need to decide which songs you want to use in your show, why, and what kind of content you want to create. You also’ll need information about your content marketing strategy, what audiences need, what audiences want to hear, and where to find them. Once you have that information, you’ll need to figure out what you want to say and how to get your audience to buy into it.
I like to build content around stories—that’s how I made “It’s Your Life,” my new music video for “It’s Your Life” which you can find out more about at www.itsyourlifemusic.com. In the video, I’m a musician who shares what it takes to build the life I want to experience and build the success I know I deserve.
What do you really want from your music video?
When I talk about “It’s Your Life,” it’s not just a music video. It’s a story I’m willing to share and tell—a story of the future, the present, and an entire history from ancient times to modern times. It’s a story rooted in the past and the future, a story of transformation that I plan to tell with all of my songs, and with everything I do in my life. The lyrics in my new song “It’s Your Life” are a celebration of our journey through life, but they’re also the story of a lifetime—from the past to the future, from the very beginning to the very end. I’m very excited about the possibility that someone else will be looking at this footage and reading my lyrics—and perhaps listening to my music, too.
To answer your question about the motivation behind “It’s Your Life,” it came about at an interesting time in my life. I made “It’s Your Life” while I was still in grad school—after I got my first college degree, I was living in New York City. I was working as a full-time singer and dancer, traveling to New York all over in search, working, and pursuing the kind of music I was obsessed with. “It’s Your Life” is an homage to that journey, but also a celebration of your future, of your past, something I’ve been wanting
